The new solo album ‘Bad Bones’ by Erik Grönwall, the exceptionally talented powerhouse from Sweden is set to be released on May 22, 2026. His last solo album of original material, ‘Crash And Burn’, dates back to 2010.
A lot has happened in this born performer’s life between that album and today.

health recovery
Of course, for years he graced H.E.A.T with his excellent vocals and songwriting skills. However, after more than 10 years in that band, he decided in 2010 that he wanted to explore new paths.
But not long after, he was diagnosed with leukemia and had to fight for his life. An anonymous bone marrow donation has allowed Erik to tell this story, and he has come to realize that his greatest talent on this earth is music—and, of course, his unique voice.
During his battle with that terrible disease and its treatments, he launched his own YouTube channel, where he performs his own unique versions of songs from various genres.
He sang on New Horizon’s debut album, ‘Gate Of The Gods’, and became the new frontman of Skid Row, with whom he released the studio album ‘The Gang’s All Here’ and the live album ‘Live In London’.
However, the grueling tour schedule took a toll on Erik’s health recovery, and he decided to leave the band.
Sitting still, however, is not an option for this fighter, and so he caught the attention of Michael Schenker and toured with him; his YouTube channel also remained active, where he released several albums.
a musical jack-of-all-trades
NOW, however, it’s time for Erik to show where he stands musically in 2026. And I have to say that after my first few listens, I’m really happy with the sound coming from ‘Bad Bones.’ The songs are wonderfully melodic rock and range from pop-rock to metal. That immediately shows just how versatile Grönwall is.
This man is a musical jack-of-all-trades and was assisted in the songwriting process by Fredrik Thomander and his best friend Jona Tee [H.E.A.T & New Horizon]. Close friend and Eclipse multi-talent Erik Martensson also contributed his songwriting skills.
over and over again
‘Bad Bones’ has turned out to be a versatile album. A song like “Who’s The Winner” even has some musical theater influences, while “Hell & Back” features a killer groove.
The songs have killer choruses that lodge themselves in your brain in no time and stay there for hours to come.
Do I have favorite songs on this album? Absolutely—tracks 1 through 10, and then back to the beginning.
The variety between the songs ensures that it never gets monotonous, and it’s a joy to listen to the album over and over again.
In addition, the album was beautifully produced at Palma Music Studios in Mallorca, and lyrically, it has turned out to be a very personal album.
fearless, personal, and uncompromising album
Erik Grönwall shows the world that he is a highly versatile artist, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a song like “Lost For Life” pop up somewhere in the charts.
Because that’s exactly where that song belongs. And “Twisted Lullaby” has a riff, hook, and groove that will put a big smile on the face of many fans of the heavier stuff.
Fans of the extremely likable Erik Grönwall will certainly not be disappointed after hearing ‘Bad Bones.’ I therefore hope that Erik will tour with this album, supplemented with songs from his H.E.A.T era.
This is a calling card where this artist has certainly shown himself at his best, and I can’t wait for more & a solo tour from this versatile artist.
This marks Erik’s return to the core of songwriting—honest, powerful, and deeply personal. ‘Bad Bones’ is a fearless, personal, and uncompromising album.
