In 2019, the guys from 7 Miles To Pittsburgh released their latest album, ‘Revolution On Hold’. The follow-up to that album will be released on September 25.
‘Beyond Repair’ is the latest achievement from this band, which consists of several veterans of the Dutch music scene.
Lead singer Andrew Elt, bassist Martin Helmantel, guitarist Joris Lindner, drummer Dirk Bruinenberg, and keyboardist Remco van Zandvoort all have impressive résumés to their credit in their own rights. And as a band, this quintet has long since proven itself to be an asset to the music industry. With their rock steeped in the ’70s and a touch of progressive rock, 7MTP has already recorded two strong albums. And ‘Beyond Repair’ is no exception to this. The now-recognizable 7MTP sound is unmistakably present on this album as well.
Pure Craftmanship
While the first two albums were self-released, the Las Vegas, USA-based record label M-Theory Audio has now signed the band. Let’s hope this gives the band an extra promotional boost they deserve and that more music lovers will be introduced to the band and get to enjoy their talent.
The band has already released music videos for two songs: “Pacific Coast Highway” and “Half Way There.” And as a preview of the entire album, these are indeed excellent choices.
The blend of ’70s classic rock with a progressive edge is evident throughout the album, and the production is beautiful and clear, with plenty of space for all the instruments.
No, this is a pure musical production—not some overproduced mess. Just pure craftsmanship.

If you’ve ever seen 7MTP live, you know that this band plays their songs perfectly in concert—without backing tracks—just enjoying themselves and making music with soul.
“Speed Of Life,” the album opener “All Men Are Created Equal,” or the rousing “The Lies You Promised To Keep” with its delightful Hammond part—they’re all equally strong. As the rest of the album is also!
After listening to this album, I’m definitely eager to see the band perform live again. Because that’s certainly no punishment. For now, ‘Beyond Repair’ will be on repeat for a while.
