Here it is – the long-awaited highlight of the GODSLAVE 15th anniversary celebrations: ‘Champions’.
A special tribute album with which the five Saarlanders pay homage to the bands and songs – their ‘champions’ – that inspired them to make music themselves. The return to the origins, the pure passion for music, has contributed significantly to the fact that GODSLAVE still exist (the band have relentlessly revealed the background to this in their documentary ‘Hinter der Kulisse’).
There are a few surprises on ‘Champions’ that will raise your eyebrows. Punk songs by PENNYWISE, NOFX and THE OFFSPRING rub shoulders with classic metal songs by ICED EARTH, MOTÖRHEAD, WHIPLASH, JUDAS PRIEST and THE HAUNTED. But nobody would have expected GODSLAVE to seriously cover LIMP BIZKIT. ‘Full Nelson’ is GODSLAVE’s very own version of the global hit, which only lets the original shine through when you listen closely. Among the surprises are SAMAEL, DOG EATH DOG, DIE TOTEN HOSEN, SENTENCED and last but not least: DAVID HASSELHOFF!
The passion with which GODSLAVE approached these songs makes us eager for the next album with their own songs in early 2026!
